Happy Halloween!

It's been a while since I have posted anything, so I figured I would at least get our Halloween pics up before it's too late! Every year our neighbors go all out and have a big Halloween party for everyone, they start decorating their house in August and every inch of their house is spooked out, they also have a haunted maze in the garage...the kids love it and we all have a good time. I'm so glad other people do fun stuff like that, because I'm definitely too lazy to do it!

Another Great Summer!!

We did so many fun things this summer, it was impossible to capture it all! I didn't take as many pics as I usually do and it seems like I have a lot more pics of my nieces and nephews than I do of my own kids! I love our summer vacation's to Utah, the weather is perfect everyday and it's so relaxing! We have no schedule and we just hang out or do fun things with Nana, cousins, or friends everyday...you can't beat that!

I do realize summer is over now and this post is long overdue, but, I'm posting it anyway-better late than never!

I am happy to say that we made it through the month of May! It is always a crazy month around here because we have 3 Birthdays to celebrate, Mother's day, and then this year we also had a Baptism, so we were really busy! Bailee turned 13 and had a fun slumber party with all of her friends. She has been asking for a slumber party for a long time and I have always said no, I finally gave in this year and it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! The girls were all really good and didnt keep us up too late, they went to see 17Again and then came back here for pizza, cake and the sleepover.

This was a very special month for Miles, he turned Eight and was Baptized on May 30th! He was very excited and had been preparing for this day for a long time, we are so proud of him! It was so great that my mom could be here to celebrate this special day with him, we would not have been able to have such a wonderful day without her! We also want to thank our lovely cousins and friends for helping out with the program and making it so memorable for Miles!

Of course I forgot to get a pic of Miles and Sean in their white baptism clothes, so I guess these pics will have to do!

Miles had a great football season, at the end of the year they had a big party with tons of food, a cake, waterslides and games. The coaches handed out trophies and a few nice things to say about each player, miles loved it!

Ivan Radman 1928 ~ 2009 Ivan Radman passed away March 14, 2009 in the arms of his wife and children, blanketed in the love of 30 grandchildren, 19 great-grand-children and dear friends.Born, March 22, 1928 in Radmani on the Dalmatian Coast of Yugoslavia to Joseph Radman and Natalia Stefanic, Ivan learned early the value of dedication to task, wisdom in choice as well as the perils of totalitarianism. His young years were spent tending the family's farm and animals as well as serving in their small village grocery store. World War II brought turmoil and destruction to their region with friends and family members suffering the ravages of war. Forced from his family and homeland in his teens as a political refugee, Ivan sought asylum in Italy for the duration of the war before migrating to Australia in 1949 on a program for displaced persons. Ivan met and married the love of his life, Janet Tredrea, whose love has enriched their 56 wondrous years together. They were subsequently sealed in the Logan temple for time and all eternity. Six children were born to their union, Peter, Martin, Jordan, Donna (Smylie), JoAnne (Crook), Bronte (Clarke). Our Saturdays are no longer free. Miles started playing football this season and we are now trying to be dedicated football parents! He has practice three times a week for 2 1/2 hrs and then a game on Saturday...it is exhausting! We are hoping it will be good for him...tough'n him up a little, give him some much needed discipline, and maybe teach him a thing or two about football! He looks so little out on the field playing against kids twice his size, but he doesn't seem to care...at least not yet!

After Christmas and all the busy, craziness was over, we spent most of our time hanging out together in the basement...

I know this is a bad pic, but I couldn't leave out a pic of the Ping-Pong table that we all played some intense Around-the-World games on! As far as the one-on-one Championship games go...so far, no one has been able to beat Josh! He has got some serious table tennis skills!

We are so lucky to be able to spend the holidays with the people we love and every year we are reminded of how blessed we really are. We love visiting grandparents, cousins, and good friends and wish that the time didn't go by so fast, but we enjoy every minute of it while we are there!

The view from the cabin, the sledding hill is about a mile long...its really fun when the snowmobile is working and they can pick you up at the bottom, but when you have to walk back up...not so much fun!

I guess I was picturing something a little different when the doc said he had to put pins in my foot, not these large screws that look like they came straight from my garage! An Update...

I know, I know, I have been boring everyone to death with my blog lately! I'm sorry that I am such a slacker, I really have no excuse, especially since I have been stuck at home for the last 4 weeks with nothing to do! I don't usually blog without having pics of some fun event or family outing, but this time I am trying something new.

The kids have been busy doing homework, soccer, and more work around the house than usual! I'm sure they are just as anxious for me to get my cast off as I am, they have been pretty good about helping me, but I can only ask them to do so many things before they start to get really annoyed! Miles joined the chess team at his school, and he has been playing it afterschool with his friend or sean, he has even had sean wake him up extra early before school so they can play in peace and quiet together! I think it is so cute, considering he is not a morning person at all! Bailee usually has alot of homework and hardly ever has time to do anything else during the week, except for Young Womens and soccer. I did make it out of the house yesterday to go to her Evening of Excellence, she did a good job doing a pioneer dance with the other beehives while wearing the long skirts that they made themselves.

I just want to say thanks to everyone that brought in dinner to us, or lunch to me! We really appreciatted it and are so lucky to know such kind and thoughtful people! I also want to say thanks again to my Mom for coming out here and helping me and the kids out so much! There is something about having your Mom around when you are sick or in need that makes everything seem better, even if it's not. She cooked for us, cleaned( a ton!), shopped, and ran the kids around to help Sean out. During the day, I was spoiled and stayed in bed resting while she did laundry, cleaned, and then went out to get lunch for me...sounds rough, I know! Apart from the pain, annoying cast, and not being able to leave the house, I guess there are worse things than breaking your foot!

I know it has been a while since my last post, we have probably lost a few of our blog followers in the meantime! We have been busy, but I finally have a minute to post a few things. The kids and I were lucky to be able to spend most of our summer in Utah with all of our family and friends that live there. It seems like everytime we go, we try to pack in more fun stuff than the year before! This year my parents went out of their way to make sure my kids got to experience all the great things about Utah(besides their usual favorites like Classic skating, Boondocks, Lake Powell, and Cafe Rio!) It always goes by way too fast, but I know that my kids will have great memories of spending time with their Nana, Grandpa, and cousins in Utah every year. I apologize in advance for the extra long post, but we had a lot to fit in!

Ty, Josh, and Zach were able to get all the little kids to try something new(or force them to try!) they all did surfing (even Bentley and Zakrie) and some did skiing. We were all wondering how Ty was getting the boys to do so much until we learned that he was bribing them with expensive gifts like Nintendo DS's or an Xbox 360 if they could stay up for so long...miles is still waiting for his Xbox 360 Ty!

It was so perfect that we got to Utah in time for Mclaren's blessing, Josh gave her a beautiful blessing and I am so glad we were able to be there for her special day.

24th of July at This is the Place Monumentwe had a memorable 24th of July this year, since my kids don't really have many chances to visit places like this living in Florida, I really wanted them to go learn more about the pioneers and their heritage, lucky for us my parents were happy to come, even though they have probably seen it a hundred times!

I think it was one of the hottest days in Utah, but my parents were so nice to brave the heat and come do all the activities with the kids.

We were also able to go to Temple Square this summer and then we watched a movie at the visitor's center.

It was so nice to just sit in the backyard and talk, play with the kids, and take turns holding the baby!

Where the baby is... the little girls are! They are so cute and motherly, they just stand over you while you have the baby, patiently waiting for their turn to hold her.

One day we took the kids up to Snowbird, hoping to ride the tram, but it was closed due to weather, so we did other stuff up in the mountains. The kids were shocked to feel the freezing cold water in the river!
We rode the lift up the mountain and took the small version of the alpine slide back down, it was fun!

Another school year ends...

As many of you can tell, I am what my friend calls " a semi-annual blogger"! I usually wait until I have a few a pics on my camera to upload before I do a blog post! So here are a few pics from May that I have to post! Miles had an award ceremony at the end of his first grade year. He did get a few awards, but I can't even remember what they were for! I do know what they were NOT for- Perfect attendence, straight 'A's, or the Highest test score! Here are a few pics of him and his friends showing off their awards!
Miles had Hawaiian day the last week of school, they did all kinds of fun stuff! Coconut bowling, fishing, made t-shirts, visors, hula skirts, ate sno-cones and fruit kabobs! What an end to a great 1st grade year!
Bailee also made it through her first year of middle school, yay! I wish I could say it was with flying colors, but she definitely struggled! Maybe next year will be better for her because she will be more familiar with the middle school schedule, we can hope anyway! She also just started attending Young Women's, which is awesome for her, even though she says she still misses primary! Bailee is not one of those girls that can't wait to grow up, she is quite the opposite, she wants to stay a kid forever! (call me crazy... but I think she might get that from her dad).

Birthday Fun!

Miles turned seven this year, and while we got away with not having a big party for Bailee, we couldn't get out of having a party for Miles! He had his party at the bowling alley (again) and invited some friends from school and neighborhood to come, he had a fun time bowling and eating pizza and cake with everyone! I still haven't been able to get a good pic of him on his new bike that Nana gave him, but I got a few pics of him trying out his skimboarding slip n slide thing that he got for his birthday, with all the skimboarding he's been doing lately, he should be able to do it for real at the beach this summer!

*Notice Miles' haircut? I am still upset about it! I loved his hair longer, but the principal at his school kept telling him that he needed a haircut( according to school rules it couldn't touch his collar, or go below his eyebrows) so I took him to get a trim and of course the lady messed it up really bad, so I took the clippers to it! I am never cutting his hair again! He says he likes it, and I I guess I have no choice but to deal with it until it grows out again!

Universal Studios

The kids had a great time at Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios while Nana was here for their birthday's! Miles has been wanting to go on the Spiderman ride for years, so we finally went and it was awesome! The other favorite ride was the new Simpsons Ride, and I have to say, it was pretty fun! I recommend it to anyone that is going to Universal soon!

This year Bailee's birthday consisted of: a special visit from her Nana, a birthday dinner at Chili's( her choice), Universal Studios, staying at a hotel and swimming for two days straight in Orlando, and of course Gifts! ( clothes, swimming suits, jewelry, scrapbooking stuff and webkinz!) Thanks to my mom who always makes the kids birthday's so special and for making the effort to come out here to take them to do all the fun stuff they only get to do when Nana is here! (and a big thanks to my Dad for letting her!)We love them and appreciatte everything they do for us!

Family Vacation

There is nothing better than swimming with your cousins, riding the rides at Disneyworld, seeing Shamoo at Seaworld and and having your entire family there to share it with you! Last week we were so lucky to have our family come to Florida for a fun and relaxing vacation. Its hard to believe how fast the kids grow up, but having moments like these helps you to treasure the time that they are young. We had such a great week, the kids missed a few days of school, but it was well worth all the make-up work we are doing now! Thanks to our wonderful parents that made it all possible, we love you!

One of the ways Miles has been spending his afternoons and weekends is practicing his skateboarding skills on the new ramps built in our backyard. I know you are probably jealous of our very attractive backyard and patio, especially the big pieces of plywood protecting the glass sliding doors, it looks hideous! but I guess if it keeps Miles active and away from the video games and TV it can't be all bad!

Again, not very good pictures, but Miles started playing basketball a few weeks ago and he is doing pretty well, he is definitely not the star player or anything, but at least he is excited to go!This is a big switch from T-Ball when he complained before every practice!

Classic Skating was a big hit this year over christmas break with all the kids, even Bentley and Olivia scootered around the rink. Miles fell down about every 5 seconds, but it didn't stop him , he just kept skating!

This year for Christmas we gave my mom this photo rolodex and it turned out so cute I just wanted to post a few pics of it! Thanks to Donna for all her 7 Gypsies product, hrs. spent at Donna's with Ash and Sara because I am so slow, and Kim and Lindsey for putting it all together in time for Christmas! I think my mom really liked it and now she has cute pics of all her grandkids to look at throughout the year.

We spent our Christmas this year at Nana and Grandpa's house in Utah, it was amazing as always! We all get spoiled while we are there and never want to leave! It was so fun to see all the kids opening their gifts and playing with eachother. We really are lucky to have such kind and giving parents and grandparents. Unfortunately, I didn't take very many pictures, and the ones that I did take came out blury, so here are just a few from Christmas day.

Miles and his pumpkin masterpiece! He got to do a lot of fun activities during school on Halloween day, but it still didn't make up for not being able to wear his costume to school and have a parade!

It's hard to believe, but I am now the parent of a child in middle school, I know it's scary! I think I was more nervous than Bailee was for her first day in a big new school. It is such a change, 8 classes with 8 teachers, lockers, changing at school into P.E. clothes, Ahhh! All of these things were going through my head the night before school started, I just wanted to hold her back one more year because I didn't think she was ready, Sean had to reassure me that we have all been through it and survived and that Bailee would be just fine. She did make it through her first day with only one major mishap, losing her locker with all of her stuff locked in it the whole day and part of the next day, but other than that she was pretty happy with middle school!

Miles had his first day of First grade and loves his new teacher, the only thing that is hard for him is getting up early again! He loves to sleep in, and is not very happy in the morning if he has to get up early. The first day hit him hard, he came home had a snack and was watching tv on the floor and at about 530-600pm he was asleep, I thought for sure he would wake up in an hour and then not be able to fall asleep, but he actually stayed asleep all night until 630 the next morning! It was great, I wish he'd do that every night!

It is amazing how fast time flies, it seems like just yesterday it was the last day of school and we were looking forward to a long summer full of lazy days and No homework! Well summer has come and gone already, but we did have a great summer vacation this year, most of which was spent in Utah with all of our family and friends! We did so many fun things and loved every minute of the time we got to spend with everyone, we loved it so much, it was REALLY hard to come back home! Bowling Birthday Bash!

This year both Bailee and Miles wanted to go bowling for their birthday party, so instead of having them on two different days, we decided to do it all in one night! It was a little crazy, but I think it went pretty well and everyone seemed to have fun! Miles had his party first and then when his party was over 2 hrs later, Bailee had her party! (since she is older and can stay out a little later on a Friday night now) They each got a lot of cool stuff and had a blast bowling with their friends from the neighborhood and from school. Thanks again to Nana, Grandpa, Josh, Kimmie, and Bentley for their gifts to the kids sent by mail, they loved spending their birthday money! I know the pics aren't very good, but they were the only ones that remotely turned out due to the cosmic lighting at the bowling alley.

Just a few pictures of Miles' field trip to Green Meadows petting farm, the billy goats loved him and wouldn't stop trying to eat the buttons off of his shorts! He also got to milk a cow, ride a pony, and hold baby chicks. Miles gave a great performance at the end of the year Kindergarten singing program, they sang some really cute and funny songs like a rap version of "Bah Bah Black Sheep" it was very entertaining! Bailee also had a fun end of the year party that was especially for 5th graders, since they are now going to middle school:(

Well as you can see, the fish did not fulfill the need for another cat. Yes, I am a sucker and Bailee was able to talk me into getting a kitten. She was so excited when I brought her home, I don't think she thought we were going to get one this soon. It is a cute kitten(named Stella), but I am hoping she will calm down a little bit! She gets a little too playful and scratches and bites a lot, I don't think our other cat likes her very much either!

Spring Break!!

Well spring break has come and gone for us down here in Florida, but is was fun while it lasted! We had perfect beach weather, so here we are getting some sun and hanging out on the beach with our friends. We had a nice break from homework and getting up early, but it's been quite an adjustment getting back into the routine again!

She begs me for another cat everyday, I guess I was hoping that the fish would fulfill her need for another cat, but no such luck, she still wants another cat! Here is a picture of our lovely fish, we are now down to 3.

Miles also had his first real motorcycle race on Saturday. He did really well for his first time on the big track, but the dirt was really soft and hard to turn on, so he fell down a lot! Sean got his exercise though, running laps around the track to catch miles when he fell! Miles wasn't too happy coming in last place, that is until he saw the big trophy waiting for him! He was so excited and can't wait to race again!

An Eventful Weekend!

This weekend was Miles' first Tee-ball game, he had a few good hits, one good catch, and even managed to run the right way every time! (He was worried about not knowing which base to run to!) The fun didn't stop there, we made it over to the carnival, and after a few games of ping pong ball toss, Miles and Bailee were the proud owners of 4 new fish! (pictures still to come...)

After months of reading and enjoying everyone else's blog, I am finally going to start my own! It won't be as cute or creative as others, but at least it will keep family and friends updated on what we are doing down here in Florida!
